Experience Point Loma Tide Pools

Getting There

  • Public Bus

    Start at the Tijuana central bus station, Estación de Autobuses de Tijuana. Purchase a ticket for a bus heading to San Diego, specifically to the San Ysidro border crossing. Once you arrive at the San Ysidro border, you will need to walk across the border to enter the United States. Make sure to have your passport ready for inspection. After crossing the border, follow the signs to the San Ysidro Transit Center.

  • Trolley

    At the San Ysidro Transit Center, board the San Diego Trolley Blue Line heading towards Downtown San Diego. Stay on the trolley for about 30 minutes and get off at the Old Town Transit Center.

  • Bus from Old Town

    From the Old Town Transit Center, transfer to the MTS Bus Route 35. This bus will take you directly to Point Loma. The bus ride will take around 25 minutes. Get off at the stop for 'Cabrillo National Monument' which is close to the Point Loma Tide Pools.

  • Walking

    After getting off the bus, walk towards the Cabrillo National Monument entrance. Follow the paths that lead you to the tide pools, which are located on the western side of the park. Make sure to check the tide schedule for the best times to explore the tide pools.
