Getting There

  • Bicycle

    From the center of Tulum, locate the bike rental shops, which are plentiful along Avenida Tulum. Rent a bicycle and head north on Avenida Tulum. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Quintana Roo 109. Turn right onto Quintana Roo 109 and continue cycling for about 1.5 kilometers. Gran Cenote will be on your left. Look for the entrance sign.

  • Collective Taxi

    Find a collective taxi (also known as a 'colectivo') at the designated colectivo stop in Tulum, usually located near the bus station. Board a colectivo heading towards Cobá or Gran Cenote. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at Gran Cenote, and they will let you know when you arrive. The entrance will be directly across the street.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk, start from the central plaza (Parque Principal) in Tulum. Head north on Avenida Tulum for approximately 1.5 kilometers. When you reach the intersection with Quintana Roo 109, turn right and continue walking for another 500 meters. Gran Cenote will be on your left side. Be sure to stay hydrated and wear comfortable shoes as the walk can take about 30-40 minutes.
