Getting There

  • Bicycle

    From the center of Tulum, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops available. Head north on Avenida Tulum, then take a right onto Calle 5 Sur. Continue until you reach the main highway (Carretera Cancún-Tulum). Turn left onto the highway and cycle for approximately 8 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Cenote Aktun Ha (Car Wash) on your left. The entrance will be marked, and there is a parking area for bicycles.

  • Collective Van

    From the main bus terminal or any central location in Tulum, look for the colectivos (shared vans) heading towards Coba. Board one of the vans and inform the driver that you want to go to Cenote Aktun Ha (Car Wash). The fare is generally around 30 pesos. The driver will drop you off at the entrance of the cenote after about 15-20 minutes. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they will stop at the cenote, as some may not.

  • Walking

    While walking is not the most practical option, you can start from the center of Tulum. Walk north on Avenida Tulum and follow this road until you reach the main highway (Carretera Cancún-Tulum). Once you reach the highway, you can either continue walking along the roadside (approximately 8 kilometers), or wait for a colectivo or taxi to pick you up if you feel the distance is too long.
