Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in Midtown Detroit, walking to the Michigan Science Center is straightforward. Start by heading east on West Warren Avenue from your location. Continue walking until you reach John R Street. Turn left (north) on John R Street, and follow it until you reach the Michigan Science Center at 5020 John R St. The center is located on your left side. This walk typically takes about 15-20 minutes depending on your starting point.

• Public Transit - Bus

  For those preferring public transit, you can take the DDOT (Detroit Department of Transportation) bus. Look for the nearest bus stop along West Warren Avenue. You can take the #5 bus heading northbound. Disembark at the stop for John R Street and East Canfield Street. From there, walk south on John R Street for about 5 minutes, and you will reach the Michigan Science Center at 5020 John R St. Please check the DDOT website or an app for the latest bus schedules. A one-way fare is $1.50.

• Public Transit - QLINE

  Alternatively, you can use the QLINE streetcar service. Head to the nearest QLINE station on Woodward Avenue. Board the streetcar heading north, and get off at the Mack Avenue station. From the station, it’s a short walk: head west on Mack Avenue until you reach John R Street, then turn right (north) and continue until you arrive at the Michigan Science Center located at 5020 John R St. The QLINE fare is $1.50 for a single ride.
