Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from downtown Traverse City, head north on Front Street towards the waterfront. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Park Street. Turn left on Park Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Eighth Street. Turn right onto Eighth Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Division Street. Turn left on Division Street and walk north. The Protected Native American Trail Marker Tree is located in a forested area at approximately 1.5 miles from this intersection. Look for a small path leading into the trees on your right.

• Bicycling

  Starting from the Traverse City State Park, head north on M-22 (also known as N. West Bay Shore Drive). Continue for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Eighth Street. Turn left onto Eighth Street and bike until you reach the intersection with Division Street. Turn left onto Division Street and head north. The Protected Native American Trail Marker Tree is located about 1.5 miles ahead in a wooded area. Look for a small path leading into the trees on your right.

• Public Transport

  From downtown Traverse City, catch the local bus service (check the schedule for routes) that heads towards the Grand Traverse Commons. Ride the bus until you reach the stop near the entrance of the Commons. From there, you can walk north towards Division Street. Continue walking until you find the trail leading into the woods. The Protected Native American Trail Marker Tree is located approximately 1.5 miles into the wooded area.
