From the center of Grand Marais, locate the Gunflint Tavern on Wisconsin Street. Head northeast on Wisconsin Street towards the shore. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 1st Avenue. Turn left onto 1st Avenue and follow it until it curves to the right, becoming Lighthouse Point Road. Continue on Lighthouse Point Road until you see the Grand Marais Harbor on your left. The Breakwater Trail starts at the harbor entrance, where you will see a path leading out onto the breakwater.
