Getting There

  • Bus

    From downtown Minneapolis, catch the Metro Transit Bus Route 18 at the Nicollet Mall and 5th Street stop. The bus runs frequently. Stay on the bus for about 10-15 minutes and get off at the '3rd Ave S & 24th St' stop. The Minneapolis Institute of Art will be just a short walk from there. Head east on 24th St, then turn left onto 3rd Ave S. The museum will be on your right at 2400 3rd Ave S.

  • Light Rail

    Board the METRO Blue Line at any of the downtown stations. Travel southbound towards the Mall of America. Disembark at the 'Lake St - Midtown' station, which takes about 15 minutes. From there, exit the station and head east on Lake St. Continue walking until you reach 3rd Ave S, then turn right. The Minneapolis Institute of Art will be on your left at 2400 3rd Ave S.
