Getting There

  • Public Transit

    If you are starting from downtown Saint Paul, walk to the nearest Metro Transit bus stop. You can catch the Route 21 bus heading towards Minneapolis. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. After passing the State Capitol, get off at the stop at Washington Ave & 2nd St. Then, transfer to the Light Rail at the U.S. Bank Stadium station. Take the Light Rail towards Target Field, and ride for 5 stops until you reach the Target Field station. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Walk north on 1st Ave N, cross the river via the 1st Avenue Bridge, and continue onto Vineland Pl. The Sculpture Garden will be on your right.

    If you are near the Mississippi Riverfront in Saint Paul, you can take a scenic walking route. Head east along the river path towards the Science Museum of Minnesota. Once you reach the museum, turn right and head north on Wabasha Street. Continue straight until you reach 5th St. S, then turn left and walk towards 1st Ave N. Follow 1st Ave N until you reach the 1st Avenue Bridge, which you will cross. After that, continue walking straight onto Vineland Pl, and you will find the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden on your right.

    For a bike ride from downtown Saint Paul, head towards the Gateway Trail, which runs parallel to the Mississippi River. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with the River Road, then turn right. Continue north along the River Road until you reach the 1st Avenue Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue onto Vineland Pl. The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden will be on your right. This route is approximately 5 miles and offers beautiful views of the river and parks.
