Getting There

  • Walking

    The Mississippi Department of Archives and History is located at 200 North St, Jackson, MS 39201, next to the Two Mississippi Museums. From the Old Capitol Museum, walk east on North Street for about two blocks. The William F. Winter Archives and History Building will be on your right.

  • Public Transport

    JTRAN, Jackson's public transit system, provides fixed route and on-demand services. Check the JTRAN website for routes and schedules to reach the vicinity of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. From Union Station, the central transfer hub, connect to a route that serves North Street. A single ride fare is $1.25.

  • Driving

    From I-55 in Jackson, take the Pearl Street Exit. Use the right two lanes to travel to the State Street intersection. Take a right on State Street, traveling past the Old Capitol Museum. Take the first right onto Amite Street, then the first left onto North Street. The Two Mississippi Museums and the William F. Winter Archives and History Building will be on your right. Free parking is available in the garage behind the museums on Jefferson Street between Amite and Mississippi Streets.
