Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car within Mark Twain National Forest, start by heading towards Highway 67. From the forest areas, look for signage directing you to Park Hills. Once on Highway 67, take the exit for MO-221 toward Park Hills. Follow MO-221 until you reach the intersection with Pimville Road. Turn left onto Pimville Road, and you will find Saint Joe State Park at 2800 Pimville Rd, Park Hills, MO 63601. The park entrance will be on your right. Note that parking is available on-site, and there may be a small entrance fee depending on the activities you choose.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, your best option is to first take a bus to the nearest major city, which is Farmington, MO. From Farmington, you can use a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft to reach Saint Joe State Park. The distance from Farmington to the park is approximately 15 miles, which should take around 20-25 minutes by car. Be sure to check schedules and availability, as public transport options may be limited in rural areas.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, biking to Saint Joe State Park is an option if you are already within a reasonable distance. Use local roads to navigate towards Pimville Road, ensuring you have a safe route. Remember to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. The park’s trails are also excellent for biking once you arrive.

• Walking

  If you are close enough to walk, ensure you have a map or GPS device showing Pimville Road. It's advisable to only walk from nearby accommodations or campsites, as walking from farther locations could be dangerous. Be cautious of traffic and wear visible clothing.
