From any location in West End, you can catch the MET Transit bus. Head to the nearest bus stop and board Route 1 (Blue Line) heading towards the Downtown area. Make sure to check the schedule for the time of the next bus. After about 15-20 minutes of travel, disembark at the stop for the Billings Depot. From there, transfer to Route 14 (Heights Line) and continue towards Lake Elmo State Park. The total fare for the bus is $1.50 per ride, and you may want to carry exact change as the bus may not provide change.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in West End. Start by heading east on Grand Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 27th Street. Turn left onto 27th Street and follow it north until you reach Lake Elmo Drive. Turn right on Lake Elmo Drive, and you will see signs directing you to Lake Elmo State Park. The ride is approximately 4 miles and should take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace.

For those who enjoy walking, start from the center of West End and walk east on Grand Avenue. After about 2 miles, turn left onto Lake Elmo Drive. Continue walking for another mile, and you will arrive at Lake Elmo State Park. This walk is approximately 3 miles and may take around 45 minutes to an hour. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
