Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the vicinity of the Old Faithful area, start by heading west on the Upper Geyser Basin Trail. Continue along the marked path that leads you towards the road towards West Yellowstone. This walk is approximately 5 miles and should take you about 2 hours. As you approach the exit of the park, you will follow signs to the West Entrance.

  • Biking

    From the Canyon Village area, take the dedicated bike paths leading west towards the Norris Junction. Follow the signs directing you to the West Entrance. The route is about 30 miles, so ensure you have enough time and supplies. The ride will take approximately 3 hours. Once you exit the park, continue straight on US-20 until you reach the town of West Yellowstone.

  • Hiking

    If you are starting from the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, head west along the South Rim Trail. This scenic hike will lead you through beautiful landscapes. Continue until you reach the junction to head south towards the park exit. After about 8 miles, you will reach the road leading to the West Entrance. From there, it's a short walk into West Yellowstone.
