If you are driving, start from the center of Kotor. Head towards the main road (E80) and follow the signs for 'Stari Grad' (Old Town). Once you reach the Old Town, look for the entrance to the fortress, which is located at the base of the mountain. You can park in the nearby parking areas, but please note that parking can be limited. After parking, walk towards the Old Town and follow the signs leading to Kotor Fortress.

Public Transportation
To reach Kotor Fortress using public transportation, take a local bus to Kotor from nearby towns such as Tivat or Herceg Novi. Once you arrive at the Kotor bus station, exit the station and walk towards the Old Town (Stari Grad). It's just a short 10-minute walk. Upon reaching the entrance to the Old Town, follow the signs for Kotor Fortress, which will lead you to the base of the mountain where the fortress is located.

Walking
If you are already in Kotor, you can easily walk to the fortress. Start from the main square in the Old Town, and head towards the northern gate. From there, follow the path that leads up the hill towards the fortress. The walk is steep and may take approximately 30 minutes, but the views along the way are breathtaking. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer months.
