Car
From Durmitor National Park, take the road towards the town of Žabljak and exit onto the E65 highway. Follow the signs towards Kotor. After approximately 2 hours of driving, you will arrive at the town of Kotor. Once in Kotor, follow the signs to 'St John Fortress' or 'Fortress of San Giovanni'. You can park your car at the designated parking area near the Old Town. The fortress is a short walk from the parking area, and the trail leading up to the fortress is well-marked.

Public Transportation
To reach Kotor Fortress from Durmitor National Park using public transportation, first, take a bus from Žabljak to Kotor. Buses run multiple times a day but check the schedule in advance for exact times. The journey takes around 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you arrive at Kotor bus station, walk towards the Old Town and follow the signs for St John Fortress. The walk will take around 15-20 minutes and is mostly uphill.
