Start your journey from the Kotor Old Town's main square, Trg od Oružja. Exit the square through the North Gate (Gradska vrata) which is the oldest gate to the old town. Once you exit, turn left and continue along the road named 'Ulica 1'. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with 'Ulica Pjaca od Oružja'. Turn right onto this street and continue straight until you reach the waterfront promenade. Keep walking along the promenade, enjoying the views of the bay, until you see the large stone wall on your left, which is part of the fortress. Look for the entrance to the fortress pathway; this will lead you up towards Gurdić Bastion. The path is well-marked and will take you through beautiful scenery, though it might be a bit steep.
