After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit towards Mae Sai District. Continue on Route 1 and follow the signs to Mae Sai city. Once in Mae Sai, look for signs directing you to Wat Phra That Doi Wao. The temple is located on a hill, so you may need to drive up a winding road. There is parking available near the temple.

From the central area of the Golden Triangle, you can take a local bus or songthaew (shared taxi) towards Mae Sai. Buses depart frequently from the main bus station. The fare is usually around 30-50 THB. Once you arrive in Mae Sai, you can either walk (about 4 kilometers) or take a local tuk-tuk to reach Wat Phra That Doi Wao. Tuk-tuk fares vary, but expect to pay around 100 THB for a short ride up to the temple.

If you prefer a direct route, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in the Golden Triangle. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost around 400-600 THB for a one-way trip to Wat Phra That Doi Wao.
