Getting There

• Walking

  From the Mandalay Palace, head south on 26th Street until you reach the intersection with 66th Street. Turn left onto 66th Street and continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several local shops and street food vendors along the way. Keep an eye out for the entrance to the Mandalay Hill area on your right. Continue past the entrance, and after another 500 meters, you will see a sign pointing towards Shwe Kyat Kya Pagoda. Follow the signs, and you’ll arrive at the pagoda in about 10 minutes.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  Start at the Mandalay Central Railway Station. Board a local bus heading towards Zawgyi Pagoda (look for buses with 'Zawgyi' written on them). The fare is inexpensive, usually around 300-500 Kyats. After a 20-minute ride, get off at the stop near the Mandalay Hill entrance. From there, you can either walk (about 20 minutes) or take a trishaw to Shwe Kyat Kya Pagoda. If walking, follow the same route described for walking from the Mandalay Palace, as both routes converge towards the pagoda.

• Trishaw

  If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a trishaw from any main street in Mandalay. Ask the driver to take you to Shwe Kyat Kya Pagoda. Agree on the fare beforehand, which should typically be around 1000-1500 Kyats for the journey from central Mandalay. The ride will take approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
