If you are driving, start from Mandalay and head southwest on the Mandalay-Myothit Road (also known as Pyu Road). Continue on this road for about 45 kilometers until you reach the town of Salay. As you enter Salay, follow the signs towards 'Myoma Salay', and you will find the Salay Monastery and Museum located centrally in the town. Look out for the large wooden posts and the traditional architecture which will guide you to the entrance. Parking is usually available nearby.

To reach Salay by bus, you can take a local bus from Mandalay's main bus terminal. Buses to Salay are frequent, and the journey typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Make sure to inform the bus conductor that you are going to Salay. The bus will drop you off at the main bus station in Salay. From there, you can walk to Myoma Salay, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus station. Follow the main road, and you will see signs leading to the Salay Monastery and Museum.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Mandalay to Salay. This will cost you around 30,000 to 40,000 Kyats, and the journey will take about an hour. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi will take you directly to the Salay Monastery and Museum. Alternatively, you can use ride-hailing services like Grab, which operates in Myanmar, to book a ride directly to the location.

For the more adventurous, renting a motorbike in Mandalay is an option. Rental costs are usually about 5,000 to 10,000 Kyats per day. From Mandalay, head southwest on the Mandalay-Myothit Road. The ride will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Once in Salay, you can park your motorbike near the Monastery. Be cautious, as the road conditions may vary.
