Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Usakos, head east on the main road, which is called the B2 highway. Continue walking for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the junction with the C33 road. This will take you to the outskirts of Usakos. At this junction, you will need to take a left onto the C33 road. Keep an eye out for local signage that may indicate Grosse Spitzkoppe. Continue on the C33 for about 32 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views along the way. At this point, you will arrive at the turn-off leading to Grosse Spitzkoppe, which may not be marked, but you can ask locals for confirmation. Follow this dirt road for around 8 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Grosse Spitzkoppe.

• Bicycle

  Begin your journey in Usakos and make your way to the B2 highway, cycling east. After about 2 kilometers, you will reach the junction with the C33 road. Turn left onto the C33 and cycle for approximately 32 kilometers. Be prepared for some varied terrain. Watch for signs indicating Grosse Spitzkoppe. Once you spot the turn-off onto the dirt road, follow it for about 8 kilometers to reach the entrance of Grosse Spitzkoppe. Ensure you have sufficient water and supplies for the ride.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  Start at the main bus station in Usakos. Look for a bus heading towards Swakopmund or Henties Bay that stops along the C33 route. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the junction with the C33 road. The bus ride will take about 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive at the junction, you will need to walk or arrange for a local taxi to take you the remaining distance. If walking, continue on the C33 for about 32 kilometers, then look for the turn-off to Grosse Spitzkoppe. Follow the dirt road for about 8 kilometers to reach your destination.
