From Thamel, walk to the nearest bus station at Sorhakhutte. Take a local bus heading towards Bhaktapur. Make sure to tell the conductor that you want to get off at Changunarayan. The bus ride will take around 30-45 minutes. Once you reach Changunarayan, walk about 10 minutes towards the temple, which is well-signposted.
Taxi
From Thamel, you can easily find a taxi. Tell the driver to take you to Changu Narayan Temple. The ride will take about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on a fare before you start your journey, as taxis in Kathmandu do not have meters.
Walking
If you are staying near Bhaktapur Durbar Square, you can walk to Changu Narayan Temple. From the square, head towards the east exit and follow the signs to Changu Narayan. It's about a 30-minute walk through scenic villages and terraced fields. Just follow the path uphill; the temple is located on a hilltop.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Thamel. Head towards Bhaktapur and take the road towards Changunarayan. The journey will take around 1 hour. Make sure to take the main road and follow the signs for Changunarayan. Once you arrive, you can park your bicycle near the temple entrance.
