If you are in the Thamel area, head east on Tridevi Marg towards the Central Business District. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Durbar Marg. Turn left onto Durbar Marg and walk straight until you see the Kathmandu Durbar Square on your right. From there, you can easily find Freak Street, which is just a short walk from the square. Look for the signs directing you to Basantapur; Freak Street is located in that vicinity.

From the Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), make your way down the hill and head towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, you can take a local bus or a taxi to get to Kathmandu Durbar Square. After arriving at Durbar Square, walk towards Basantapur and follow the signs to Freak Street, which is just a few minutes' walk from the square.
