Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Thamel area, head south on the main road towards the Ratna Park. Continue walking towards the Durbar Square, passing local shops and eateries. Once you reach the square, take the road leading southeast until you hit the Bagmati River. Cross the river using the nearest bridge. After crossing, follow the path along the riverbank until you reach the Imadol area. Look for signs directing you to Mahalaxmi. The Kathmandu Valley is nearby, so keep walking until you arrive at Mahalaxmi 44600.

  • Public Bus

    Head to the nearest bus stop in Thamel. Board a bus heading towards Lagankhel. The fare is very affordable. Inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Lagankhel. Once you arrive, exit the bus and walk towards the main road. From Lagankhel, you can either walk straight down the road or take a local rickshaw to Mahalaxmi. The distance is about 1.5 km, approximately a 20-minute walk.

  • Bicycle

    If you are renting a bicycle, start from Thamel and head towards the Ring Road. Follow the Ring Road south until you reach the Imadol area. Make a left onto the road leading to Mahalaxmi. You'll pass local shops and residential areas. Continue riding until you reach Mahalaxmi 44600. The ride should take around 30-40 minutes depending on your speed.

  • Rickshaw

    In Thamel, find a local rickshaw driver and negotiate a fare to Mahalaxmi 44600. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Make sure to show the driver 'Mahalaxmi 44600' written down to avoid any confusion. This is a convenient option if you are carrying luggage or prefer not to walk.
