If you are in the heart of Kathmandu Durbar Square, head southwest towards the entrance of the square. From there, take a right onto the main road leading to Patan. Walk straight for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the Patan Industrial Estate. Continue walking past the estate, and you will eventually arrive at Mangal Bazaar. The Vishwanath Temple is located just off the main road, a few minutes walk from Mangal Bazaar. Look for a small lane that leads to the temple; it should be marked with signs.

From Thamel, walk to the nearest bus stop and catch a local bus heading towards Lagankhel or Patan. The bus fare is very affordable. Inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Lagankhel. Once you reach Lagankhel, get off and walk straight towards Mangal Bazaar. The Vishwanath Temple is located just a short walk from there. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions; they are usually very helpful.
