Getting There

• Car

  From the Mid-Hills region, you can drive to Kathmandu. Use the Prithvi Highway for a picturesque journey. Follow the signs to Kathmandu and head towards Thamel, a popular tourist area. Once in Thamel, look for Kathmandu Guest House Road, where the Everest Base Camp Trek & Excursion office is located. Parking is available in Thamel, but be prepared for limited space.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  Catch a local bus from your location in Mid-Hills to Kathmandu. Buses frequently depart from major towns and cities. Look for a bus labeled 'Kathmandu' and confirm with the conductor if it's heading to the city center. The journey may take several hours (4-6 hours depending on traffic). Upon arrival at the Kathmandu bus park, take a taxi to Thamel. The fare should be around NPR 300-500.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more private and direct route, hire a taxi from your location in Mid-Hills to Kathmandu. Agree on the fare beforehand, as it can vary based on distance and negotiation. Expect to pay around NPR 4,000-6,000 for a direct trip to Thamel. Once in Thamel, head to Kathmandu Guest House Road to reach the Everest Base Camp Trek & Excursion office.

• Local Transport (Rickshaw)

  Once in Thamel, you can use local transport options such as rickshaws to reach your exact destination if you are staying further away. Negotiate the fare before starting, with typical fares ranging from NPR 100-300 depending on the distance.

• Walking

  If you are already in Thamel, you can easily walk to the Everest Base Camp Trek & Excursion office. It's located on Kathmandu Guest House Road, which is a short and pleasant walk from most hotels in the Thamel area. Look for signs directing you to the guest house road, and you will find the office along this road.
