Our Everest Base Camp trek in June was a lifelong dream come true. Though it was early monsoon and off-season, the weather was kind, and with fewer trekkers, we enjoyed the peaceful trails. We flew both ways, and despite some worry about flight delays, everything was smoothly arranged by Mr. Prashant Nepal and the amazing Sole Encounters Adventures team. At EBC, I felt the effects of altitude, but our guides, Pramila Rai and Sakti Shrestha, acted quickly. We didn’t stay overnight at Gorakshep they took us down the same day to lower altitude, about 400m descent, where I started to feel better. It was a long day, but it truly saved my life. Traveling with my husband, we felt completely safe with such a caring and professional team. This journey was unforgettable, and we’re deeply thankful to Sole Encounters for making it happen.

A Chance & Goal of a Lifetime 2024!

Shortly after arriving in China, getting settled in your new role, finding your flow and groove for living in the country, you want to travel. Immediately, M2 Adventure Travels was passed on to us by previous travelers. They have so many diverse excursions and trips which are readily available and affordable. One of the trips that stood out was the Tibet to Mount Everest Base Camp adventure. Well, the first year was all working--then, the pandemic--then, other trips popped up. Recently, all was in alignment for the 8-day Tibet to Mount Everest trip. After inquiring availability, it was open…and I was signed up. The service was outstanding to ensure that permits and travel were secured. Without concern, I was literally days away from seeing Mount Everest for myself. A chance and goal of a lifetime. Flying off to Tibet, meeting other likeminded travelers and we were on our way. The monasteries and other historical points were amazing to experience. Until…day three, when you are literally in route to Mount Everest. Within the height of anticipation, our guide and driver took care of us at every turn. We were also fortunate to have a group of twelve, of whom got along with each other, and we began our climb to the top of the world together. From the sense of community, our hotel stays, meals, and sights to see---this was a fantastic trip. Our experienced guide held us over just a few hours, and the clouds dissipated and there in the near distance was Mount Everest! In all its glory, meaning different and unique accomplishments to each of us on the tour. We could not be more grateful for the wonderful job that M2 Adventures achieved for us on this trip. Highly recommend this excursion. If you have the resources to request the private room once you get to Mount Everest--this is recommended, not required. This depends on what experience you want to achieve and experience.
