Car
If you are driving, start from Biratnagar, which is well connected by road to various parts of Province No. 1. Take the Birtamod-Biratnagar road and head towards Bhadrapur. From Bhadrapur, continue towards Mechinagar, then follow the signs towards Kakarbhitta. Once you reach Kakarbhitta, continue towards the border and proceed to Phaplu. From Phaplu, take the road to Salleri and then to Khumjung. The approximate distance is about 250 km, and the journey may take around 10-12 hours depending on road conditions. Note that you may need to hire a local jeep for the last leg of the journey from Salleri to Khumjung, which could cost around NPR 3000-5000.

Public Transportation
To reach Sagarmatha National Park using public transport, start from Biratnagar and take a bus to Salleri. Buses from Biratnagar to Salleri are available frequently and the journey takes approximately 8-10 hours. The fare is around NPR 600-800. Once you arrive in Salleri, you can hire a jeep or a local taxi to Khumjung, which typically costs between NPR 3000-5000 and takes about 2-3 hours. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may vary.

For those who are adventurous, you can trek to Sagarmatha National Park from Salleri. After reaching Salleri, you can start your trek to Khumjung which takes about 4-5 hours.
