Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Haarlem train station (Haarlem Centraal), exit the station and head towards the main road (Zijlweg). Turn left onto Zijlweg and walk straight for about 15 minutes. You'll pass various shops and cafes along the way. When you reach the intersection with the Grote Houtstraat, turn right. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where you will see the beautiful Grote Markt square directly in front of you.

    From the Frans Hals Museum, exit the museum and turn left onto the Groot Heiligland. Walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Zijlstraat. Turn right onto Zijlstraat, continue walking straight until you reach the Grote Markt. The square will be on your left.

    If you are at the Teylers Museum, exit the museum and turn right onto the Spaarne River. Follow the riverbank for about 10 minutes until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the Grote Houtstraat. Turn left onto Grote Houtstraat, and then take a right at the next intersection to enter the Grote Markt.

    Starting from the Basilica of St. Bavo, exit the church and walk straight down the Bakenessergracht street for about 3 minutes. When you reach the intersection with the Zijlstraat, turn left and walk straight. You will soon see the Grote Markt appear ahead of you.
