Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Haarlem central train station, exit the station and head south towards the city center. Walk straight along the Raamsingel road until you reach the intersection with the Grote Houtstraat. Turn left onto Grote Houtstraat and continue walking until you reach the Spaarne river. Cross the bridge over the Spaarne. Once you cross, continue straight until you reach the main square, the Grote Markt. From the Grote Markt, you will see the St. Bavochurch. Walk towards the church and continue past it into the Waagplein. The Waaggebouw is located at Waagplein 2. It’s a short walk of about 15-20 minutes.

  • Public Transport

    From Haarlem central station, take bus line 50 towards Alkmaar. Get off at the stop 'Alkmaar Waagplein'. The Waaggebouw is directly in front of you as you exit the bus. The bus ride will take approximately 35 minutes. Please check the bus schedule for the most current times.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Haarlem central station. Head north along the Spaarne river pathway. Follow the path until you reach the junction with the N205 road. Turn left onto N205 and continue towards Alkmaar. After about 10 kilometers, you will reach Alkmaar. Once in Alkmaar, follow the signs to the city center and make your way to Waagplein. The ride will take around 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
