If you are traveling by car, from Zaanse Schans, take the N8 road towards Amsterdam. Continue on the N8, which will merge into the A8 highway. Follow the A8 and then take the exit toward S116. Continue straight to merge onto the S116, and then follow the signs for Amsterdam-Centrum. Once in the city center, use a GPS or map app to navigate to Westermarkt 6, 1016 DK Amsterdam. There is limited parking available near the Descartes House, so be prepared to search for a spot, and be mindful of parking fees.

Public Transportation
To reach Descartes House using public transportation, start by taking the train from Zaandam station. Board a train to Amsterdam Centraal. The journey takes approximately 17 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head towards the tram stop located right outside. Take tram line 13 or 17 towards the Westermarkt stop. Get off at Westermarkt, and Descartes House is just a short walk from the tram stop. Walk west on Westermarkt, and you will find the house at Westermarkt 6.
