If you're traveling by car, start by heading to the Mount Washington Auto Road located at Mt Washington Auto Rd, Jackson, NH 03846. From most locations within the White Mountains National Forest, you'll want to follow the signage to Route 16 North. Once on Route 16, continue until you reach the intersection with Mt Washington Auto Road. Turn onto Mt Washington Auto Road and follow it for approximately 7.5 miles. There is a toll to access the road, which is around $30 for a standard vehicle. The road will lead you directly to the parking area near Tip Top House.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, your best option is to take the Concord Coach Lines bus service to North Conway. From there, you can catch a local taxi or ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft to reach the Mount Washington Auto Road. The taxi ride from North Conway to the auto road is approximately 20 minutes and can cost around $30-$40. Once you arrive at the auto road, you will still need to pay the toll fee to access the road leading to Tip Top House.

For those who prefer an adventurous approach, you can hike to Tip Top House from the base of Mount Washington. Begin your hike at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, located about 10 miles from Tip Top House. Follow the Tuckerman Ravine Trail, which will lead you up the mountain. This is a strenuous hike, typically taking 4-6 hours to reach the summit. Make sure to check the weather conditions before embarking on your hike, as they can change rapidly in the mountains.
