Getting There

  • Car

    From the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, head northwest on Pleasant Plains Rd towards Long Hill Rd. Continue on Long Hill Rd for about 1 mile, then merge onto NJ-24 W. After approximately 5 miles, take the exit onto I-287 N towards Morristown. Stay on I-287 N for about 12 miles, then take exit 30A to merge onto US-206 N toward Newton. Continue on US-206 N for about 15 miles, then turn left onto County Rd 519. Bear Swamp Wildlife Management Area will be on your right after about 2 miles.

    If you're traveling via public transportation, start from the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge and take a bus to Morristown. You can catch NJ Transit Bus #874 from the nearest bus stop. Once in Morristown, transfer to NJ Transit Train Line towards Dover and get off at the Newton station.
