Getting There

Car
From any location within Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, head towards the nearest main road. If you are near the Great Swamp Visitor Center, exit onto Long Hill Road (CR-512) and head northwest. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Hardscrabble Road. Turn right onto Hardscrabble Road and follow it for about 3 miles. The New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary will be on your left at 11 Hardscrabble Rd, Bernardsville, NJ 07924. Look for the sanctuary’s sign at the entrance. There is no fee for parking.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, the nearest train station is Bernardsville Station. Take NJ Transit’s Raritan Valley Line to Bernardsville. From the train station, you can either take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the sanctuary, which is approximately 3 miles away. If you prefer walking, you can take Hardscrabble Road from the station, although it may take about an hour. Please check NJ Transit for current schedules and fares, as they may vary.
