    From the Paterson Museum, walk to the nearest bus stop at Market St. & Broadway. Take the NJ Transit bus #85 towards New York Port Authority Bus Terminal. Ride for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there, transfer to the MTA subway. Take the A, C, or E train to 42nd St. and then switch to the 1 train heading uptown. Get off at the 86th St. station. From the subway exit, walk east on 86th St. until you reach E 81st St, then turn left to find The Obelisk in Central Park.

  • Train

    Walk to the Paterson Train Station located at 1 Market St. Take a NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line towards New York Penn Station. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Penn Station, exit and walk to the nearby 34th St. subway station. Take the 1 train heading uptown. Get off at the 86th St. station. From there, walk east on 86th St. until you reach E 81st St, then turn left to find The Obelisk in Central Park.

    If you prefer to walk, start at the Great Falls National Historical Park in Paterson. Head south on McBride Ave, then take a left onto Market St. Follow Market St until it merges with Broadway, then continue straight. After about 1 mile, you will reach the Paterson Train Station. From there, you can take a bus or train to New York City as described above, or continue walking along Broadway until you reach the George Washington Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue into Manhattan, making your way towards Central Park and E 81st St. This is a long walk and may take several hours, so be prepared.
