If you are already in Gila National Forest, drive towards Glenwood, NM. From the town of Glenwood, take NM-174 S for about 3 miles. Turn left onto Catwalk Road and continue for approximately 7 miles. The entrance to the Catwalk Recreation Area will be on your left. Make sure to check for any entrance fees, which may apply.

Public transportation options are limited in the Gila National Forest. However, if you are traveling from Silver City, you can take a local bus or arrange for a shuttle service to Glenwood, NM. Once in Glenwood, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to Catwalk Recreation Area as public transport does not extend to the site. Expect to pay for the taxi service separately.
