If you're traveling by car from any location in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, start by locating NM-68 South, heading towards Santa Fe. Continue on NM-68 until you reach the junction with I-25 South. Merge onto I-25 South and drive for approximately 30 miles until you reach Exit 278 for NM-14. Take this exit and turn right onto NM-14 North. Continue on NM-14 for about 12 miles, and you will arrive at The Turquoise Trail located at NM-14, Madrid, NM 87010. Look for parking areas along the trail.

To reach The Turquoise Trail via public transportation, you will need to start your journey in Santa Fe. From the Santa Fe Depot, take the NM Rail Runner Express train toward Belen. The train runs several times a day, and ticket prices vary, typically around $10 for a one-way trip. Disembark at the Madrid stop. Once you arrive in Madrid, you can either walk or use a local taxi service to reach The Turquoise Trail, which is within a mile of the station. Make sure to check the train schedule for return trips.
