Car
If you're traveling by car from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, start by heading south on NM-68 S towards Taos. Continue on NM-68 S for about 30 miles until you reach the junction with US-285 S. Take the exit onto US-285 S and follow it for approximately 70 miles. After that, merge onto US-70 E towards Alamogordo. Continue on US-70 E for about 40 miles until you see the signs for White Sands National Park. The entrance will be on your right. Note that there is an entrance fee of $25 per vehicle, which is valid for seven days.
