If you're traveling by car, start by heading south on NY-9 from anywhere in North Country. Continue on NY-9 for approximately 25 miles until you reach the town of Hyde Park. Once in Hyde Park, turn left onto Valkill Park Rd. The Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site will be on your right, at 106 Valkill Park Rd. There is free parking available on-site.

From Poughkeepsie, you can catch a local bus (Dutchess County Public Transit Route 5) that goes to Hyde Park. Make sure to check the bus schedule beforehand.
