    From Poughkeepsie, take the Dutchess County Public Transit bus route 1 from the Poughkeepsie Transit Hub. Board the bus towards the 'Highland' direction. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the 'Macks Lane' stop. From there, it is a short walk (about 0.5 miles) up Macks Lane to the entrance of Franny Reese State Park.

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from a local shop in Poughkeepsie. Start by heading to the Hudson River Greenway path along the waterfront. Follow the path northward for about 2 miles, then take the exit towards Macks Lane. Continue straight on Macks Lane for another mile until you reach the entrance of Franny Reese State Park.
