From Yonkers, head to the Yonkers train station located at 1 Alexander Street. Take the Metro-North Hudson Line train towards Grand Central Terminal. Make sure to check the train schedule for the next train to New York City. You'll need to get off at the Newark Penn Station stop, which is about a 25-minute ride. Once you arrive at Newark Penn Station, exit the station and follow the signs for the NJ Transit Light Rail.

After exiting Newark Penn Station, look for the NJ Transit Light Rail station. Board the Light Rail train heading towards Newark Broad Street. Get off at the Washington Street Station. From there, it's a short walk to The Newark Museum of Art. Head east on Washington Street for about 3 blocks, and you will find the museum at 49 Washington St.

From Yonkers, you can also take a bus. Head to the nearest bus stop and catch the NJ Transit Bus #44 towards Newark. This bus will take you directly to Newark. Once you arrive in Newark, get off at the stop closest to Washington Street. Walk east on Washington Street for about 4 blocks to reach The Newark Museum of Art, located at 49 Washington St.
