Getting There

  • Car

    To reach McLaren Falls from Tauranga city center, start by heading south on Cameron Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with SH29. Turn left onto SH29 and follow it for approximately 14 km. Take the exit toward McLaren Falls Road and turn right onto McLaren Falls Road. Continue on this road for about 5 km until you see the entrance to McLaren Falls Park on your left. There is a small parking fee of around NZD 5, payable at the entrance.

    From Tauranga city center, take the Bayhopper bus service Route 1 (Red Line) towards Te Puke. Disembark at the stop nearest to the junction with SH29, which is approximately 12 km from the city center. From there, you can either walk about 3 km along SH29 to reach McLaren Falls Road or consider using a rideshare service for the remaining distance. Note that there may not be a direct public transport option to McLaren Falls, so planning ahead is recommended.
