Walking
If you are starting from the central Tauranga area, begin at the Tauranga Waterfront near The Strand where you can find plenty of cafes and shops. Head southeast towards the intersection of Wharf Street and Elizabeth Street. Continue straight onto Elizabeth Street until you reach the intersection with Cameron Road (State Highway 29). Cross Cameron Road carefully and continue walking along Elizabeth Street. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the intersection with Gate Pa Road. Turn left onto Gate Pa Road and continue for about 500 meters. You will see signs for Kopurererua Valley Park, which is located on your right. Follow the path leading into the park.

From the central Tauranga area, you can catch a bus from the Tauranga Bus Station. Look for the bus routes that head towards Gate Pa. The bus number may vary, so check the schedule at the station or online for the latest routes. Alight at the stop nearest to Gate Pa Road. From there, walk along Gate Pa Road heading towards the Kopurererua Valley Park entrance, which will be on your right after approximately a 10-minute walk.

Turn left onto Gate Pa Road and continue for about 500 meters. The entrance to Kopurererua Valley Park will be on your right. The cycle paths are mainly asphalt and shingle, making it a pleasant ride.
