Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Tauranga city center, head towards Willow Street and walk towards the Tauranga Waterfront. Follow the waterfront pathway in the direction of the Strand. Continue walking along the waterfront until you reach the intersection with Elizabeth Street. Turn left onto Elizabeth Street and head towards the intersection with State Highway 2. Cross over to the other side, and then continue walking straight along State Highway 2, which will take you towards Bethlehem. The Wairoa River Reserve is located at 340 State Highway 2, Bethlehem. Keep an eye out for signage indicating the reserve entrance.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From the Tauranga city center, make your way to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the Bayhopper bus route that heads towards Bethlehem. Take the bus that goes to the 'Bethlehem Town Centre'. Once you arrive at the Bethlehem Town Centre, exit the bus and walk towards State Highway 2. Head north on State Highway 2 for approximately 10-15 minutes, and you will find the entrance to Wairoa River Reserve on your left at 340 State Highway 2.
