If you're driving from Christchurch, take State Highway 1 south towards Ashburton. After approximately 80 km, take the exit toward State Highway 77, signposted for Methven. Continue on SH77 for about 25 km until you reach the town of Methven. From Methven, turn right onto Methven Chertsey Road, which becomes Washpen Road after approximately 6 km. Continue on Washpen Road for about 7 km until you reach 590 Washpen Road, where you will find the entrance to Washpen Falls. Parking is available on-site.

To reach Washpen Falls using public transport, take a bus from Christchurch to Ashburton. There are several services available daily. Once in Ashburton, you will need to take a taxi to Methven. From Methven, you can hire a taxi or arrange for a shuttle service to take you directly to Washpen Falls at 590 Washpen Road. It is recommended to pre-book your taxi or shuttle as public transport options may be limited.
