Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Greymouth, head south on Mackay Street towards the intersection with Tainui Street. Turn left onto Tainui Street and continue walking until you reach the railway station. At the station, you can catch a train to Taylorville. The train journey takes approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Taylorville Station, exit the station and turn left onto State Highway 7. Continue walking along the highway for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Brunner Mine Historic Area. The entrance is located at the end of a short path leading from the highway.

  • Bicycle

    From the Greymouth town center, take the cycle path along the Grey River towards the south. Follow this path until you reach the junction with State Highway 7. Turn right onto State Highway 7 and continue cycling for about 3 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs to Brunner Mine Historic Area. There will be a designated area to lock your bike near the entrance.

    From the Greymouth Bus Station, take the bus heading to Taylorville. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes. After arriving in Taylorville, disembark at the main stop and walk towards State Highway 7.
