Bus
Start your journey at the Hamilton Transport Centre located at 6 Bryce Street, Hamilton. From here, catch the bus route 25 towards Huntly. The bus typically runs every 30 minutes. Remain on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Huntly Town Centre. Upon arrival, disembark at the last stop, which is the main bus stop in Huntly.

Walking
From the Huntly Town Centre bus stop, head southeast on State Highway 1 (also known as Great South Road) towards Taupiri. Walk for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Taupiri Road. Continue walking straight along State Highway 1 until you see the signs for Mount Taupiri, which is located approximately 4 kilometers from the town center.

Once you reach the intersection of State Highway 1 and Taupiri Road, turn left onto Taupiri Road. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer. You will start to see a pathway leading up to Mount Taupiri on your right. Follow the pathway, which will lead you to the base of the mountain.

At the base of Mount Taupiri, you will find a well-marked trail that leads to the summit. The hike is approximately 1.5 kilometers to the top and should take around 30-45 minutes.
