Getting There

  • Bus

    Start at the Hamilton Transport Centre located at 5 Bryce Street, Hamilton. Take the bus route 25 towards Pirongia. The bus will take you to the Pirongia Village stop. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Pirongia Village stop, you will need to walk to the Pirongia Forest Park entrance.

  • Walking

    From the Pirongia Village bus stop, head south on Franklin Street toward the main road (State Highway 39). Turn left onto State Highway 39 and continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Pirongia Forest Park entrance. The park is well-marked and you will see signs directing you towards the entrance.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Hamilton. Follow the same route as the walking instructions from Pirongia Village.
