From Palmerston North, drive west on State Highway 3 (SH3) towards Whanganui. After approximately 70 km, you will reach the town of Whanganui. Continue on SH3 and turn onto Victoria Ave, then follow the signs to Whanganui National Park, which is located northeast of the town. The park's entrance can be accessed via the Raetihi-Ohakune Road.
