Car
From Mount Cook National Park, start by heading south on State Highway 80 (SH80) towards Twizel. After about 30 km, turn left onto State Highway 8 (SH8) towards Omarama. Continue on SH8 for approximately 45 km until you reach Omarama. Once in Omarama, look for Henburn Road, which is located just off SH8. Turn onto Henburn Road and follow it for about 15 minutes until you reach the Clay Cliffs car park. Please ensure you have $5 cash on hand for the park entrance fee.

Take a bus from Mount Cook Village to Twizel using the local shuttle service. From Twizel, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to Omarama, as public transport options are limited. Once in Omarama, you can either walk or take a taxi to Henburn Road, where you will find the entrance to the Clay Cliffs. Remember to have $5 cash ready for the park entrance fee.

For the adventurous, cycling from Mount Cook National Park to Clay Cliffs is an option. Start by cycling south on SH80 towards Twizel.
