From the nearest town, Wanaka, drive southeast on State Highway 84 (SH84) for approximately 15 km. Turn left onto Lake Hawea-Cardrona Road (signs for Lake Hawea Lookout). Continue on this road for about 5 km, and you will reach the Lake Hawea Lookout car park. There is no parking fee.
