If you are traveling by car, the Haast Pass Lookout is easily accessible from State Highway 6. Start by heading east on State Highway 6 from Wanaka, or west from Haast. Follow the highway until you see the signs for Haast Pass Lookout, located at -44.106437 latitude and 169.3521336 longitude. There is a designated parking area available for visitors. The lookout is a short walk from the parking lot.

For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Wanaka or Queenstown that travels along State Highway 6 to the Haast region. The bus services may not stop directly at Haast Pass Lookout, so you should get off at the nearest bus stop and walk approximately 2 kilometers along the highway to reach the lookout.
